Klewenalp-Emmetten-Schlittelweg
Overview
Intro
First-rate tobogganing fun: the region's longest toboggan run can be reached on the longest aerial cableway in Central Switzerland – complete with lake view.
Description
The longest toboggan run in the Lucerne-Lake Lucerne region starts on the Klewenalp, high above Lake Lucerne. During the brief ride up to the Klewenalp from Beckenried – also known as “the prettiest village by the prettiest lake” – tobogganists enjoy a breathtaking panorama view of the lake and Central Switzerland’s mountain scenery.
Then after a short walk to Klewen Chapel, the tobogganing fun begins: the track runs round the Klewenstock and on down to Ängi Valley. There is then a short uphill walk at the Ängi chairlift, but the effort is well rewarded: when you arrive on the Twäregg the view of the Schwyzer Mythen, Brunnen and surroundings is breathtaking.
The track then winds its way down the Twäregg through beautiful pine forests towards Stockhütte and then on down to Emmetten.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
