Lehmen–Kronberg Trail
Overview
Intro
From the bottom to the top, a direct route to Kronberg: Snowshoe enthusiasts with a very good level of fitness will find the challenge they are looking for here. This sunny route promises quietness and solitude. Arrived on Kronberg, a beautiful panorama opens up right into the lowlands and Lake Constance.
Description
After a short descent for the first few metres, it's already worth taking a brief detour to the icy Leuenfall waterfall. This is where the Berndlibach stream plunges over a cliff and becomes a wonderful ice sculpture in winter. The gentle ascent begins after passing the much-visited and beautifully located Wallfahrtskapelle (chapel) in Ahorn. This route lies on the south-facing slope and the sun is therefore your loyal companion.
The northerly chain of the Alpstein with its craggy walls greets you from the other side of the valley. The view sweeps over Ebenalp, Schäfler, Altenalptürme, Öhrli and Säntis. After the idyllic Alp Gigen and a short climb, hikers on snowshoes can enjoy an amazing view on the hills of Wartegg. Now comes the crisp final ascent to Kronberg-Krete and the last section to the summit, which runs parallel to the toboggan run. Once you have arrived on Kronberg, a beautiful panorama opens up right into the lowlands and Lake Constance.
It's easy to go back down to the valley by cable car and return to the starting point by train and PubliCar from Jakobsbad.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
