Heroes triumph here, and sometimes they also fail: The Lauberhorn Run has been the scene of all kinds of fates and emotions. At 4.5 km, it is the longest and most demanding World Cup downhill course. However, it is also suitable for experienced amateurs.
The Lauberhorn Run, held in Wengen each year in mid-January, is one of the highlights of the Skiing World Cup. It is particularly noted for the legendary bottleneck at Hundschopf. Other well-known notorious passages include the Minschkante, the Canadian Corner and the Ziel-S. While the pros on the Lauberhorn piste achieve record speeds (up to 160 km/h Haneggschuss), those who are here for the fun of it should also enjoy the view – the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau form a most harmonious setting.
