Raclette in an alpine pasture

Experience an authentic Valaisan evening in the heart of the mountains that will delight people of all ages.

During this activity, you will meet the famous Hérens cows—powerful, majestic animals with a fascinating history and rich traditions. Your mountain guide will share captivating anecdotes about life on the alpine pastures and the iconic cattle of our region.

Your adventure begins at 4:00 pm with a chairlift ride to Tortin (ticket for the charilift not included in this offer). You will then hike back down to Siviez along trails winding through forest and alpine pastures. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to observe the cows in their natural habitat and gain a deeper understanding of their crucial role in alpine life.

The evening comes to a close with a traditional raclette melted over a wood fire, enjoyed outdoors in a beautiful alpine setting. The scent of melting cheese and the warmth of the fire create a relaxed and memorable end to the experience. The activity ends around 9:00 pm.

You will need warm clothes, good walking shoes, your annual lift pass (if you have one) and a headlamp, as the activity will end after sunset.

Chairlift ride: Please note that the chairlift ticket is not included in the activity price. If you don't have an annual lift pass, you can buy your ticket in Siviez before the activity starts. Price: CHF 15.00 (adults) or CHF 8.00 (children).
