For over a thousand years, people have shaped the small town of Stein am Rhein in many ways with their culture - and thus also with their music. Monks sang Gregorian chants in the monastery church, noble ladies were celebrated in minnesongs. The night watchman wandered through the alleys singing a lullaby, winegrowing gave rise to cheerful drinking songs, and female workers sang while they worked to make their tasks a little easier.
