A theatrical exploration of love, absence, and memory
What remains of a relationship after years of silence, distorted memories, and truths never fully told? In *The Broken Angel*, Swedish author Sara Stridsberg explores the complex bonds between a father and his daughter across half a century of shared life. From childhood to the father’s disappearance, the narrative unfolds in fragments, much like memory itself. Time periods blur, memories resurface, and the unsaid take center stage. Little by little, a portrait emerges of a relationship as chaotic as it is deeply human—one made up of love, awkward moments, wounds, and attachment.Under the sensitive direction of Jean-Yves Ruf, this intimate journey finds its full power in the performances of Valeria Bertolotto and Roland Vouilloz. A tender yet cruel, delicate yet deeply moving face-to-face encounter that reminds us that family bonds are often the most fragile… and the most indestructible.
