What future awaits the polar bears?
Annemarie Koelliker and Roberto Saibene have visited the Arctic twice. They first caught polar fever in 2014 on Svalbard. In this Norwegian archipelago, they admired the imposing mountain ranges and glaciers plunging into the sea. The main attraction, however, was the numerous polar bears they were able to observe at close range. Four years later, they embarked on an expedition through the Northeast Passage: from Norway across Siberia to Alaska. The icy landscapes and the rich flora and fauna fascinated them. During the four-week journey, they also witnessed firsthand the dramatic changes resulting from climate change. They returned home from their expeditions with many pictures and questions: Will the polar bears and the local people who have lived there for millennia survive the coming decades? About the Multivision Show For Annemarie Koelliker and Roberto Saibene, travel is more than just a hobby. They have traveled to numerous countries and collected the most beautiful moments: the breathtaking sight of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the contact with the friendly Sherpas in Nepal, and the boundless dune landscapes in Namibia are just a few examples. Back home, they have combined the images with music and commentary to create slideshows.
