After a longer pause, the Season Opening returns to Val Surses – and in a very special form: For the first time, all the youth teams of the Surses region are jointly organizing the event and inviting you to the Sala Grava in Savognin on Saturday, December 19, 2026.
Look forward to a live concert with Volxrock (concert starts at 8:30 p.m., doors open at 7:45 p.m.) as well as an afterparty with DJ Vojager until late at night. Catering with bar service will also be provided.
The Season Opening brings locals, second-home owners, and guests together and marks the festive launch of the winter season. With the resumption of this beautiful tradition, the youth teams want to create an event that connects people and re-establishes itself as a fixed part of winter in Val Surses.
Volxrock
What well-known band can rock the biggest heavy metal open-air event in the world in Wacken while also partying in festive folk tents? There’s no such thing? Oh yes! Volxrock from South Tyrol serves us a powerful musical potpourri of genres that shouldn’t even exist in the worldview of categorization-thinkers. Because Volxrock combines solid rock and heavy metal with nature sounds and melodies of traditional folk music. Everything is allowed and possible with Volxrock...
Volxrock consists of Christian Gartner (vocals, guitar, trumpet), Marco Egger (guitar, vocals), Werner Gartner (electric bass, accordion, vocals), and Michael Weger (drums, guitar). The band's style and trademark are unmistakable, and it is no coincidence that Volxrock has become a strong term for exciting live shows in Germany and Austria. The band has belonged to the new wild folk music scene since its inception, which also includes groups like LaBrassBanda, voXXclub, hmbc, or individual artists like Andreas Gabalier. Volxrock succeeds in simultaneously appealing to and exciting both old and young through the anarchistic blend of heavy metal, classic rock, rap, and folk music tradition.
