Jumping into Love: A Magical Wedding by Lake Geneva Written by Hélène the bride

We chose Lausanne for our wedding because this city holds a special place in our hearts. We celebrated our first anniversary there while I was finishing my MBA at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne. Located in the heart of Europe, Lausanne represented a perfect blend of my French origins and Janis's Latvian roots, making it an ideal place to bring together our diverse family and friends. Moreover, its English-speaking environment made it very welcoming for our American friends, where we live full-time.

Choosing Lausanne went beyond convenience. It was about finding a place that was not only easily accessible for our guests but also allowed them to explore more of Europe, with beautiful locations just a few hours away. We truly felt that Lausanne is a hidden gem, not only for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and breathtaking views of the lake and mountains but also because it's a place many wouldn't think to visit spontaneously. We loved the idea of offering our loved ones a chance to discover this lesser-known city, full of surprises and charm.

The most memorable moment of our wedding was the transformation of the day into a big party, with the beautiful performances and the magical evening atmosphere that settled in. But the best moment was jumping into Lake Geneva at 3 AM with our wedding party, all in hotel robes, and feeling that it was truly the most beautiful day of our lives!

Our experience with Swiss vendors was wonderful. Their hospitality and flexibility in adapting to our needs and vision for this day were incredible, especially our wedding planner, who handled many aspects herself thanks to her relationships and contacts - such as for our rehearsal dinner, for example. The venue was perfect, contrasting nicely with our wedding ballroom and truly capturing the spirit of Lausanne in a beautiful garden. She managed to secure this venue for us, and speaking of the rehearsal dinner, the buffet and food were exceptional. With little direction, they really knew how to create the perfect evening!

The florist was also exceptional and knew how to bring our vision to life with little guidance, and the result was exactly what we wanted. Everything coordinated perfectly well.
