CULINARIUM ALPINUM in Stans
The "CULINARIUM ALPINUM" competence center for Alpine regional cuisine is located in the former Capuchin monastery in Stans. The focus is on the culinary diversity of the Alpine region - this is brought to life through educational offers and regionally anchored gastronomy.

Swiss Historic Hotels and Lodgings

The Chief Magistrate of Nidwalden had the monastery built in 1583, and Capuchin monks lived here until 2004. Today's Culinarium Alpinum is an innovative total work of art. The historic structure was modernised and extended and the monks' cells were turned into stylish hostel accommodation and seminar rooms. The restaurant in the former refectory only serves specialities with Swiss products. Vaulted cellar with monastery shop and Alpsbrinz cheese store. Over 250 types of berries and fruit grow in the monastery garden, all part of the centre of culinary expertise.
