Switzerland’s Ultraluxury 3-Michelin-Key Hotels The Michelin Keys — What They Are and Why They Matter

Michelin Keys are the Michelin Guide’s official hotel distinction, often described as the equivalent of Michelin Stars for hotels. Launched in 2024 and rolled out globally in 2025, the Michelin Keys highlight outstanding luxury hotels following anonymous inspections. Properties are evaluated on architecture and design, service quality, character and atmosphere, value for money, and their connection to the destination.
Three Michelin Keys represent the highest level of recognition. In Switzerland, only nine hotels have received this top distinction, placing them among the country’s most exceptional luxury hotels and travel experiences.
