Intro

The SAC Silvretta Hut is wonderfully situated in the middle of the Graubünden Alps, at the western foot of the Silvretta Glacier, above Klosters at 2341 m above sea level. Enjoy our homemade drinks on our sun terrace or fortify yourself with a fine piece of homemade nut cake for the onward journey.

Description

With the Silvrettahorn, the Schneeglocke, the Piz Buin or at best the Piz Fliana, beautiful alpine tours lure mountaineers and ski tourers out of the hut early in summer as well as in winter. For mountaineers with an affinity for climbing, the Verstanclahorn or the Großer Seehorn are exciting destinations.
A glacier nature trail winds its way as a circular hiking trail over four kilometres through the glacier forefield of the Silvretta Glacier. 15 theme boards offer you information and graphics on local conditions and show you connections, such as global warming.
In about 10 minutes walk from the hut you can reach our small climbing garden. 20 routes between the 3rd and 6th degree of difficulty meander up the gneiss rock. The routes are a maximum of 30 meters long.
After physical exertion, a cool bath with a wonderful view over the glacier is sure to be exactly what you are looking for. 15 minutes above the hut you can reach our wellness area.

Maintenance time:
Winter: Mid-February to early May
Summer: Mid-June to mid-October

When the cabin is not attended, you will find shelter and accommodation in this winter cabin. There are cooking facilities with Bernnholz and emergency provisions at your disposal.
Since the sleeping places are limited, a reservation is essential in any case!

Access in winter with touring skis or snowshoes:
From Alp Garfiun approx. 4.5 hrs
from Klosters Monbiel approx. 5.5 hrs
Normal route: Winter access through the Galtürtälli is marked from Alp Sardasca.

Access in summer
from Alp Sardasca (normal route, old mule track) T2, approx. 2 hours
from Alp Sardasca (path through Galtürtälli) approx. 2.5 hrs
