Following in the majestic wake of the great old sailing boats of Lake Geneva, the film is also titled *LA PUISSANCE DU TRAVAIL*. A French-Swiss silent film directed by Jean Choux, restored by the Swiss Film Archive in 2002. Michel Simon’s memorable debut. Running time: 96 minutes, using the French-German internegative of the Swiss version. The story of a troubled young man (André Carel) sent to a sanatorium on the shores of Lake Geneva, who falls in love with a boatman’s daughter and takes up manual labor on the lake’s boats.
