Curator's café - Egg stories: x from 165,000 objects
Overview
Intro
The Winterthur Nature Museum has a small but fine egg collection.
How do we store eggs and bird nests in the collection? What difficulties arise in the preparation and pest management of this collection? These questions arise in the daily work of our curators - and you can join in the discussion.
In the cozy setting of the "Boost Bar", the curator and the taxidermist will explain how they deal with eggs and bird nests. You have the opportunity to talk directly to those responsible: Ask questions, find out the background and gain new perspectives. In keeping with the current temporary exhibition "Chickens - underestimated poultry", this time the focus is on birds.
A fascinating look into the hidden stories of a large collection - direct, personal and open to your curiosity.
With Sabrina Schnurrenberger, curator of biology and Claire Gohard, zoological taxidermist
