Langlaufloipe Thorbachmatte
Overview
Intro
A little gem: The Thorbach cross-country skiing trail passes through simple terrain with view of the Schrattenfluh with its striking peaks.
Description
The municipalities of Sörenberg and Flühli, which are linked by the Waldemmen valley, jointly represent the best-known and largest of Canton Lucerne’s winter sports destinations. While Sörenberg could be considered a winter sports hotspot, Flühli offers more in the way of peace and quiet, as well as fabulous views.
Flühli ranks amongst Lucerne’s winter resort pioneers: it was here, in December 1945, that the canton acquired its first (bar-based) ski lift. The Thorbach skiing area once played host to Central Switzerland’s only alpine World Cup competition.
The Thorbach cross-country skiing trail is two kilometres in length and passes through simple terrain. The views are of the Schrattenfluh with its four striking peaks.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
