Intro

From Lenk, over rolling meadows, up into lynx territory, through a damp, eroded limestone region with views far into the distance. Over the Trüttlisberg Pass and through the long Turbachtal Valley with its varied history, down to the sophistication of Gstaad.

Description

Follow the Wallbach river through the eponymous gorge – the start of this stage is all about climbing up steps. Over hundreds of years, the Wallbach has carved out cylindrical pools in the rock here that look as if made by hand.

As soon as the forest thins out, the nature changes to endless welcoming green meadows. Nature is wild and seemingly untouched, with only a few isolated huts and flocks of sheep offering a gentle reminder of the civilisation so recently left behind. Having reaching the Trüttlisberg Pass, hike alongside the Turbach down into the valley and through the forest towards Gstaad. As this becomes less dense, large charming chalets can be spotted lining the wayside more and more often, until you come to the heart of Gstaad, surrounded by jewellers and designer shops. A vending machine filled with dairy products will bring a smile to the face of even the most exhausted of hikers.
