What will you think when someone tells you, you can be in love, engaged and married in 24 hours only? Impossible, right? Well… Belgian TV-channel VTM and television production company Dedsit thought otherwise. Dedsit came up with a format where couples go to different destinations to find this out.
One person of the couple thinks they are participating in a travelshow called “Dream Holiday”, but the other person knows better.. Together with the famous Belgian host Ruth Beeckmans, they make plans to do a marriage proposal and wedding in the destination as they arrive.
Jorg and Mabelle are invited to visit the Lucerne Region and particularly the hotel Vitznauerhof in Vitznau. As they have never been to Switzerland before, this is a nice surprise for them. Jorg and Mabelle met on dating app Tinder, but got along so well on the first date that they soon got together, and have been a couple ever since. Mabelle certainly wants to get married and already has several Pinterest-boards with her ideas about the big day. The only thing she is waiting for, is the question from Jorg.
While they arrive in Vitznau and Mabelle is checking out the room in the hotel, and enjoying the sauna gondola right at the Lake Lucerne, Jorg meets up with host Ruth to prepare a plan for the big question.
Jorg & Mabelle visit the Impulse Gallery in Lucerne, where they are having a guided tour from the Gallery owner Claudia. Then suddenly, Mabelle notices her own paintings on the wall. The ones she made several years ago and were supposed to be on the wall in grandma’s house. How did they end up there? Suddenly, Jorg lifts the painting, grabs a ring and pops the question. Of course, Mabelle’s answer is YES!
The picturesque village of Weggis is located directly on the crystal clear waters of Lake Lucerne at the foot of Mount Rigi. Weggis is known for its Mediterranean atmosphere and is often called the Riviera of Lake Lucerne. The ceremony location- a pavilion directly on the lake and with a unique alpine panoramic scenery view was just perfect.
Then, a series of surprises follow: people who are very close to the couple came to Switzerland as well to be their witnesses. Mabelle has her Bachelorette party making the meat balls she very much likes, at the shore of Lake Lucerne. Jorg gathers his best friends to make and personalize a Swiss Army Knife at the local Victorinox-store.
The next day, it is time to get married. In Weggis, outside, with a backdrop of Lake Lucerne and the Alps, a beautiful Bohemian set up is ready for Jorg and Mabelle. Exactly like the Pinterest board of Mabelle, Felix from Faytastic weddings made a beautiful arrangement for them. Next surprise: 20 close friends and family members came to Switzerland as well to celebrate the wedding! As Mabelle enters the wedding venue after she was dropped of by a cute little boat, she sees the surprise.
After they exchange vows and are married by a Swiss official, the party can get started. Their first dance, is accompanied with a sunset on Lake Lucerne.
In terms of decoration, the Boho wedding decor was all about free spirits, hippie-inspired whims, and a mix of textures and colors. Pampas grass, dried flowers in combination with earthy and pastel pink tones did add that extra level of romance to the ceremony.
