August 1 national holiday in St-Cergue
Overview
Intro
St-Cergue is organizing its August 1st in the center of Le Vallon. Open to everyone
9.00–9.30 am: registration for the doubles pétanque tournament, coffee and croissants
9.45 am: start of the pétanque tournament
From 10.00 am, let yourself be swept away by the brand-new “Ballade à Béatrix”, an immersive audio adventure created by the theatre company Les Entractés
This 16-stage walk invites you to rediscover the history of the Vieux Château through an original production combining storytelling, music and theatre. Two departures are available at 10.15 am and 11.15 am from the Tourist Office, with the artists in attendance. Participants will be offered a glass of wine on arrival at the Place du Vieux Château.
From 1.00 pm, the Creux du Vallon will be transformed into a hub for sporting activities. Visitors can try their hand at disc golf with Disc-Golf La Côte, discover slacklining and balance games with Itao, or enjoy areas dedicated to volleyball, badminton and table tennis.
From 2.00 pm, it’s time for creativity under the school’s covered courtyard. Les Z’amis de Saint-Cergue will be running several workshops for young and old alike: making lanterns for the evening procession, drawing castles, face painting and a wishing tree where everyone can hang a message.
The pétanque tournament will conclude at 4.00 pm with the prize-giving ceremony.
The evening will begin at 6.00 pm with a traditional Swiss meal, accompanied by a vegetarian option.
7.00 pm: official ceremony
8.30 pm: children’s procession
The light show by the Compagnie Paradox will begin at 9.30 pm
The concert at 10 pm (the groupe Wednesday)
