Old Style Bigband
Overview
Intro
Jazz Concert
Round off the year on a musical note and immerse yourself in the world of the Old Style Big Band (OSB) – with swing and blues, but also pop and rock.
The OSB brings together just under 20 musicians from the Grisons and St. Gallen Rhine Valley regions, as well as the Prättigau.
The OSB is now under the musical direction of Patrick Rothenberger, who is shaping the orchestra’s sound with fresh ideas and great passion.
The OSB’s repertoire ranges from ragtime, rock ’n’ roll, swing, funk, Broadway and the big band sound of the 1930s, through well-known songs from musicals, to pop songs. In doing so, the ‘Old Stylers’ – partly using their own arrangements – uphold the big band tradition, whilst their soloists on trumpet, saxophone, trombone, piano and guitar are guaranteed to ‘invent’ something new at every concert.
Look forward to a varied end-of-year concert – rousing, atmospheric and brimming with musical energy.
