The play “Sin miedos” tells the story of two people who want to escape reality and happen to meet on a bus in Cuba. One journey, two destinations, and love are enough to bring them together on this trip.
After six hours in Guantánamo, the story begins: a border guard, an artistic director, fear, abandonment, powerlessness, and a broken heart are all on the table. These are the very same things that have accompanied the artistic duo to Spain and now to Switzerland. On this journey, the artists share their darkest and most sensitive moments with us.
Flamenco dancer Sara Santos was born in Schaffhausen and has Spanish roots. Vismel Barrios is a musician and singer from Cuba. In their piece, the two blend styles they’ve inherited from their respective continents—from flamenco to bolero, son, and Afro-Cubano.
