Intro

The Fishing Museum in the heart of the Old Town of Zug combines a wealth of information and exhibits in a compact space.

The show hatchery is operated on the first floor and it is here that whitefish, red chalk, pike and trout have been bred since 1883. If you want to know more about the history of the hatchery, the waterways around Zug and the individual species of fish, this is the place to be! The upstairs room with its museum area is dedicated to the history of the fishery and its associated objects. The museum transports visitors back in time to around 1900 and takes you on a journey of discovery into the world of rare and exotic collectables. All you wish to know about fishing and fishing techniques is here for the asking. See how to fish with traps, nets, and rods.
