The Lindt Home of Chocolate at a glance
The Lindt Home of Chocolate in Kilchberg near Zurich is a chocolate museum, research centre and place of experience at the same time. The interactive museum shows how cocoa from distant growing regions becomes the famous Swiss chocolate. The building is also home to the largest Lindt Chocolate Shop in the world and a 9-metre-high chocolate fountain.
What to experience
Multimedia tour of the museum (1.5-2 hours)
The tour takes you from the plantation to the modern research facility, where you will observe how chocolate is made. In the "Swiss Pioneers" room you will meet the chocolatiers who made Switzerland the world-famous chocolate country: Cailler, Suchard or Rudolf Lindt with his process, which made chocolate tender and melting.
- Good to know: An audio guide in 10 languages will guide you through the exhibition.
- Tip: There is a separate audio guide for children in German and English.
Create Your Own Chocolate (45-60 minutes)
At the Lindt Chocolateria, you can become a Maître Chocolatier or Maître Chocolatière yourself. Under guidance, you can pour your own chocolate bar or you can form figures and lollipops and decorate them to your taste. You can then take your creations home with you.
- Good to know: The courses can only be booked online and are often booked out weeks in advance.
- Tip: You can also find many private and speciality courses online that you can book.
