Located in the heart of Geneva's old town, the museum's mission is to conserve, study and publish a collection begun by Josef Müller in 1907 and continued to this day by his heirs. The collection now numbers several thousand pieces and includes works of art from tribal and classical antiquity, as well as sculptures, fabrics and ornaments from civilizations all over the world (primitive art from Africa, Oceania, Melanesia and America). Many of these pieces are essential masterpieces. The museum has a permanent collection and organizes up to two temporary exhibitions a year.
