Founded in 2015, the Museo d'arte della Svizzera italiana (MASI Lugano) has established itself as one of the most visited art museums in Switzerland in just a few years.
Founded in 2015 from the merger between the Museo Cantonale d'Arte and the Museo d'Arte di Lugano, the Museo d'Arte della Svizzera italiana (MASI) is the beating heart of the LAC cultural center and in 2016 was counted among the most visited museums in Switzerland thanks to its more than 100,000 annual visitors. MASI is positioned on the Swiss scene as an artistic crossroads between the North and South of the Alps. MASI was also chosen by the Federal Office of Culture as one of 12 museums to be supported at the federal level for the next five years.
