Fürstensteig
Overview
Intro
The Fürstensteig is one of the most famous paths of the Rätikon mountain range and is a classic mountain hike in Liechtenstein. A first class tour full of extremes and surprises awaits you.
Description
The hike begins with the scenic views from alp Gaflei at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level. Over green pastures and past mountain pines, the path climbs continuously to reveal spectacular views. Fürstensteig is an experience of a special kind. The exposed parts are secured with wire ropes and railing to hold on to. At the Gaflei saddle we can see the Drei Schwestern mountains in the distance. We will hike below the Schrofen mountain peak up a steep path through a gap, below the Helwangs peak, to the Kamin which is also sign-posted as the «Chemi» (Chimney).
From the Kamin, the path takes you past more mountain pines down to Bargälla saddle where a view of all the Liechtenstein mountains and their valleys and peaks can be seen. Now it's only a short hike back to the starting point in Gaflei.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
