Solzhenitsyn’s hideaway
Overview
Zurich’s mayor Sigmund Widmer used to have a vacation home in Bauma-Sternenberg where Alexander Solzhenitsyn was once in hiding. The Russian author was deported from the Soviet Union in 1974 and briefly lived in the Zurich Oberland. A tour of the house sheds light on his life’s story.
