The Pfingstegg summer toboggan run at a glance
The Pfingstegg summer toboggan run is located above Grindelwald in the Bernese Alps. With your toboggan you ride down the mountain in the canal and set the pace yourself. Children from the age of 8 are allowed to ride alone, younger ones accompanied. The toboggan run can be reached by cable car. A lift takes you back to the mountain station.
What to experience
Tobogganing through curves and across meadows
Your tobogganing adventure starts directly behind the mountain station of the cable car. On the track through the fast-paced curves, you control the speed yourself with the brake lever. The cable car leads over lush alpine meadows with a view of the mountain landscape. At your destination, a lift will take you comfortably back to the mountain station for the next ride.
- Good to know: In case of rain or wet, the track will be closed for safety reasons.
- Tip: Buy multi-trip tickets and save compared to single trips.
Fly-line through the forest (2-3 minutes)
Glide through the mountain forest on the 130-meter-long zipline. You are securely fastened in your comfortable harness system, so you can enjoy the flight to the maximum. The Fly-Line starts and ends directly below the mountain station of the cable car. A lift takes you back to the start.
- Good to know: Minimum height is 130 centimetres, maximum weight is 120 kilogrammes.
- Tip: Combined tickets for the toboggan run and fly-line are cheaper.
Hiking and enjoying the mountain panorama (1–2.5 hours)
From the Pfingstegg mountain station, easy to moderately difficult hikes are open to you. The route goes uphill along the glacier gorge in the direction of Bäregg. Information boards tell you how the spectacular rockslide on the Eiger came about. In the other direction, the path leads you downhill towards the Hotel Wetterhorn.
- Good to know: Surefootedness and good shoes are absolutely necessary.
- Tip: Berghaus Bäregg has a terrace with a view of the imposing mountain landscape.
