Experience the fascination of bringing a sparkling, millions-of-years-old rock crystal from deep within the mountain to the surface. Our beautiful Swiss mountains hide treasures that have been growing for millions of years inside them. A rock crystal is a natural wonder: it grows in absolute darkness surrounded by large rocks and stone – it then sparkles like sunlight! Bringing such a treasure to the surface requires patience, a delicate touch and respect for nature. Together with professional prospector Markus B. Komminoth, you can immerse yourself in this fascinating world of rock crystals and Swiss nature for a whole day.

Tour offer

• Day tours from earliest sunrise to latest sunset for individuals, groups of up to 5 people or one to two families with children aged 6 and above
• Introduction to the world of Swiss rock crystals and minerals as well as expert guidance throughout the day
• Search for rock crystals, pyrites (fool’s gold)
• Prospecting tools provided
• Prospecting licence
• You may take your daily finds home with you

Requirements for participants

• Good physical condition
• Sure-footedness
• No fear of heights
• At least one hiking experience in the mountains (difficulty level not exceeding T3 on the SAC hiking scale)
• The tour will be individually adapted in consultation with you

Equipment

• Mountain boots rising above the ankle with tread
• Rain protection
• Trekking trousers / long jeans trousers (may get damaged)
• Backpack
• Food and sufficient drinks for a whole day in your backpack
• Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, sun hat)
• Gardening gloves if available

The participants are responsible for their own insurance. Crystal searching only takes place in good weather conditions. Registration required 1–2 weeks in advance, limited number of participants.
