Intro

Discover the diversity of water birds at Lake Constance at an event by the NVS Meise in the Arbon Bay.

While strolling along the shores of Lake Constance, you can currently observe a wide variety of waterfowl on the lake or nearby shores. Due to its large water surface and several bays with mudflats, such as the Arbon/Steinach Bay, Lake Constance is an outstanding resting and overwintering area for the bird world, especially for various waterfowl and waders. Many may have often wondered: Where do they come from? What do they eat? Why do so many come to Lake Constance? Why are some colorful while others are almost monochromatic? To get to know or deepen your knowledge of the different waterfowl species, waders, and gulls, the NVS Meise organizes various events by the lake. The next one takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, in the Arbon Bay, near the Aach Bridge. At the NVS Meise observation stand, you can observe this bird world and learn more about it from 2:00 PM to approximately 4:00 PM. In case of rain or fog, the event will be canceled. If the location is changed, please check www.meisearbon.ch starting Sunday at 10:00 AM.
