Overview
Intro
Hannibal - the open-air play by Origen at the Julier Pass.
Hannibal, likely the boldest general in history, marches against Rome. To save his hometown of Carthage, he crosses the Alps with a vast army and strikes at the heart of the Roman superpower from behind. The unprecedented campaign decimates his troops, dampens morale, and fuels doubt. When Roman scouts kidnap his son, resistance ignites. Hannibal advances on Rome and threatens the city. – Origen reimagines the ancient myth in a contemporary context. An extensive introduction to the work, held in the afternoon in Mulegns, sheds light on the historical background, the creation of the piece, the concept of the staging, and the international ensemble.
