Intro
Schloss Wartegg was built in 1557 overlooking the southern shore of Lake Constance. Around 1960, this former refuge of the Empress Zita fell into a Sleeping Beauty-type slumber. 1994 brought about a cultural awakening and the careful renovation of this elegant hotel. The castle garden with its useful plants (ProSpecieRara), many of which originally came from old farm gardens, is quite unique - and so is the interplay between wonderful seasonal fresh ingredients.

Embedded in an English park with a fantastic view of Lake Constance lies the historic Biohotel Schloss Wartegg. The GaultMillau cuisine spoils you with garden-fresh creations in a festive atmosphere. A charming, cordial and courteous service makes guests feel completely comfortable and at ease. An exclusive celebration is of course guaranteed, as there is only one wedding celebration at a time at Wartegg Castle. In the "Historic Hotels of Europe Wedding Experience 2020" the hotel achieved the excellent 2nd place.
Swiss Historic Hotels and Lodgings
Historic renaissance palace in an 1860 English landscape park. The visible stylistic elements are from the 19th and 20th centuries, while the roof timberwork, the walls and the window structures are from their respective construction phases. The Bijou Turkish bath, the focus on the essentials, the traditional materials and the nursery with ProSpecieRara varieties shape the hotel's historic ambience.
Meeting
Schloss Wartegg, a castle which has been restored according to modern ecological building standards, looks back on an eventful 450-year history. The castle is located in a park of national importance. The restaurant offers exquisite, seasonal "slow food" dishes with many fresh products from the castle’s own organic garden. The various rooms and large park provide the perfect setting for successful seminars, workshops and events.
