Intro

The Val de Réchy, which is located to the south of Sierre, is an untamed natural valley. Its unspoiled state, natural streams, mountain lakes and blanket mires with their interesting flora make Val de Réchy a very worthwhile hiking destination.

Description

The valley is not accessed from its upper section by road and provides optimum conditions for peaceful walking and the observation of wildlife. The landscape has typical Ice Age features: glacial knobs, moraines and so-called «Karmulden», i.e. cirque hollows formed by past glaciers. The mountain stream «La Rèche» follows its natural course and there is an extensive blanket mire with a wide variety of plant species in the upper part of the valley.

How to get there:
Drive or take public transport from Chalais to Vercorin, then take a cable car to Cret du Midi or come directly from Réchy (by car or Swiss Post Bus).
