The Adliswil – Felsenegg cable car at a glance
The valley station is located in Adliswil, 30 minutes from Zurich's main train station. The Adliswil–Felsenegg cable car takes you to the Felsenegg mountain station at 800 metres in just a few minutes. At the top, a vantage point awaits you with a view of Zurich, Lake Zurich and the Alps.
What to experience
Cable car ride (5 minutes)
In the 30-seat cabin, you float over meadows and forests up to the mountain station. During the journey, the view of the Sihl Valley and the surrounding landscape opens up. On clear days, the view extends from the Säntis to the Bernese Oberland peaks. The railway is integrated into the Zurich Transport Association (ZVV) and is barrier-free.
- Good to know: The valley station is a 10-minute walk from Adliswil train station.
- Tip: If you have the Zürich Card, you can travel to Felsenegg for free.
Hiking on the Planet Trail (2 hours)
The Planet Trail connects Felsenegg with Uetliberg and maps the distances in the solar system over a walking time of around 2 hours. Each meter corresponds to 1 million kilometres. From the dwarf planet Pluto you hike past the 8 planets to the sun and learn interesting facts about the celestial bodies.
- Good to know: The Planet Trail is suitable for families with children.
- Tip: You can get back to Zurich's main train station comfortably with the Uetliberg Railway (S10).
High-altitude hike on the Albis chain (1.5 hours)
Several paths lead from Felsenegg over the Albis chain. Particularly nice: Heading south you hike to Buchenegg and on to the Albis Pass. The trail offers views of Lake Zurich again and again and is mostly flat. It is suitable for families and hikers of all ages. Along the way, you'll find fire pits for grilling.
- Good to know: The path is suitable for prams and can be walked all year round.
- Tip: Once you arrive at the Albis Pass, the bus will take you comfortably back to the Sihl Valley.
