Einsiedeln Monastery is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Europe. The monks live here according to the rule of St. Benedict. The baroque monastery complex from the 18th century houses the Chapel of Mercy with the Black Madonna from the 15th century. Every year, around 800,000 pilgrims and tourists visit the monastery.

On a guided tour of Einsiedeln Monastery, you will immerse yourself in the colorful world of the Baroque. You will visit the monastery church with the Chapel of Mercy and the Black Madonna. The highlight is the abbey library, which is not open to the public, with its precious manuscripts and the magnificent Rococo hall from the 18th century.

Monkstrail: Scavenger hunt through the monastery grounds (1 hour)
The Monkstrail takes you on your own criss-cross the monastery grounds. Use your smartphone to solve puzzles, knock on heavy doors and encounter all kinds of animals in unexpected places. You will learn exciting facts about the history of the monastery and the life of the monks today.

Wine cellar tour with tasting (1 hour)
The Einsiedeln monastery winery processes grapes from the monastery's own vineyards on Lake Zurich and is one of the largest local wine producers. During a guided tour of the wine cellar, you will experience the craft of winemaking up close. A tasting of selected wines rounds off the visit.
