If you’re fascinated by healing waters and all they can do, you should pay a visit to Bad Ragaz to experience its spas and nature hikes.

Legend has it that two hunters discovered the healing spring in the Tamina Gorge during the Middle Ages. The beneficial effects of the lovely 36.5°C water from the mountain can still be enjoyed today by all bathing belles and beaux at the impressive poolscape of the Tamina thermal spa. Waterfalls, a lazy river, grotto and several indoor and outdoor pools guarantee a stimulating bathing experience. You should definitely plan on spending enough time there. The other highlight is a hike through the gorge. What a marvel: the roaring Tamina River rushes alongside the safe path, and in the historic spa and what is now the Altes Bad Pfäfers Museum you can learn all sorts of fascinating things about the largest acrato thermal spring in Europe, which produces 8,000 litres of warm water every minute. An ancient tunnel leads to spring-fed water grottos. Once you arrive you’ll understand why this water is referred to as “blue gold”.
