The Kirchner Museum Davos at a glance
The Kirchner Museum Davos in the canton of Graubünden preserves the world's largest collection of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880–1938), who lived in Davos for the last 20 years. Around 40 paintings, over 700 drawings and numerous woodcuts are part of it. The building by Gigon/Guyer made of glass, concrete and steel is considered a milestone in museum architecture.
What to experience
Visit Kirchner's Davos Collection (1–2 hours)
In 4 halls you stand in front of Kirchner's works with their strong colors and angular shapes. You will see mountains, alpine meadows and people he found as inspiration right outside his Davos door. Sketchbooks, woodcuts and the sculptures he carved show you how versatile the Expressionist's work was.
Public guided tour of the exhibition (45 minutes)
Let art education professionals show you what's behind Kirchner's paintings. In 45 minutes you will hear stories about his life in Davos and the works before you. The tours take place in German and English and give you a worthwhile red thread through the collection.

City walk in Kirchner's footsteps (2 hours)
Embark on a quest for Kirchner's motifs. On the guided walk through Davos, you will stand in front of the mountains, forests and houses that he painted in his unmistakable colors and lines. In this way, you connect the images in the hall with the landscape that inspired him and see the place through his eyes.
- Good to know: The paths are wheelchair accessible (asphalted), but some are steep.
