What to experience
Roaming the collection (1-2 hours)
Make your way through the collection from the medieval hall to the painting of the 20th century. You're standing in front of landscapes by Ferdinand Hodler, paintings by Félix Vallotton and Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot. Ancient finds, icons, musical instruments and historical furniture tell of everyday life in past millennia.
- Tip: Printed themed tours are available at the reception and the audio guide runs on the smartphone.
Visit temporary exhibitions
In addition to the collection, the MAH shows around 10 changing exhibitions every year. The spectrum ranges from ancient art to modern art, from archaeological treasures to big names in painting. This way, you will see different works every time you visit and encounter topics that you won't find on a tour of the collection.
- Good to know: The exhibitions on display can be found on the museum's website.
Discover the museum on Thursday evening
Thursday evening is special at the MAH. The opening of the temporary exhibitions takes place every Thursday and the museum remains open until 9 pm. Then you can also discover the collection with themed tours or concerts in a special atmosphere and enjoy a drink to go with it.
- Tip: Find out about the current events on the website.
