Heidiland Bike

The Heidiland Bike route sets off from Unterterzen with a cable car ride to Tannenboden on the slopes of Flumserberg. From this altitude, you can enjoy front-on views of the striking Churfirsten mountain range. After setting off high over Lake Walen, the route passes through Quarten, Flums, Mels, Vilters-Wangs and Bad Ragaz along the mountain slopes. It leads through varied cultural landscapes featuring woodland, Alpine meadows, scattered settlements and historical route systems. The route is dotted with far-reaching views into the valley and the surrounding mountains. There is no shortage of mountain inns and Alpine pubs to stop and have a bite to eat along the way.

The first stage features a high proportion of wild trails and varied riding terrain. On the slopes of Flumserberg, a portion of the journey overlaps with the Blue Salamander bike trail that forms part of the BikerBerg Flumserberg route.

The second stage boasts enchanting views into the Rhine Valley and of the Maienfeld district, popularly known as the Bündner Herrschaft. The uphill portion of the second stage requires careful battery management. If you would prefer to spare yourself some uphill altitude, you can take the gondola lift in Vilters-Wangs and/or Bad Ragaz.
