The path goes from Käserstatt to Mägisalp via alpine meadows and enchanting forest passages. Here, winter hikers can always catch a glimpse of the Wetterhorn mountains opposite.
Description
The alarm clock goes off – outside it is still night time. The call of the snow-capped mountains is irresistible. Soon the snow will be crunching under your feet. The sun is rising, and the fresh air feels so good. Winter hiking means leaving your footprints behind and listening to the light crumble of soft snow.
With a view of the mountainous landscape, this route sets off from the top station of the Hasliberg cable car, Wasserwendi – Käserstatt, after a short, gentle climb down towards Mägisalp. The expansive slopes of Hasliberg form a mosaic of forests and slow fields. To begin with, you can enjoy the view of the imposing Wetterhorn and Engelhorn mountains from an open field. Then the path descends slightly through the forest and past snow-covered alpine huts to your destination.
The terrain is not too steep, so the hike is also recommended for children. Facing the afternoon sun, there are several restaurant terraces along the route that invite you to take a break. The hike takes around one hour and can also be done in reverse. It can also easily be combined with other routes.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
