Experience the Rhine Falls from the water. Schiffmändli boats take you into the Rhine Falls basin, where you can discover the tranquil section of the Rhine known as the “Amazon of the Rhine.” Choose between a short round trip, a long tour, or a scheduled trip.
Rheinfall boat trip at a glance
Take a boat trip to the Rheinfall basin and experience the waterfall up close. The boats run from April to mid-October and depart approximately every 20 minutes from Schlössli Wörth. You can choose between three different trips.What to experience
30-minute round trip – Rhine Falls and the “Amazon of the Rhine”
Travel through the Rhine Falls basin and experience the waterfall up close. The boat then glides along the calm Rhine to the German border. The boat captain will tell you interesting facts about the landscape and the beavers. Boats depart approximately every 20 minutes – you can board at any time.
- Good to know: The tour runs daily from April to mid-October.
- Tip: You can get off at Dachsen and return later.
Long tour to Rheinau (75 minutes)
The long tour takes you 14 kilometers through the “Rhenish Amazon” to Rheinau. The boat stops briefly – you can visit the baroque monastery church or stop at a restaurant. Afterwards, you return with another trip through the Rhine Falls basin.
- Good to know: The long round trip runs on Sundays and public holidays, and daily in July and August.
- Tip: Allow time for a stop in Rheinau.
Scheduled boats – between the Rhine Falls and Eglisau (1.5 hours)
The scheduled boats take you to various landing stages along the Rhine, such as Dachsen, Rheinau, Ellikon, and Rüdlingen. You can combine the boat trip with hikes or other activities and discover places that cannot be reached by car. Ideal for day trips on the Rhine.
