Intro
The planet trail is a small-scale model of our solar system. Constructed on a 1: 1 billion scale, it extends an overall length of approximately 6 kilometers – from the sun in Willisau to the planet Pluto in Schötz.
An illustrative trail that depicts sizes and distances of the celestial bodies in a lifelike display scale. The viewer requires little or no imagination to work out that the orbits are several ten thousand times larger than the diameter of the planets. And as the seemingly endless expanse around our planet soon becomes clear – the fact that our planet Earth is the only place where people live does too.
The hike takes a good 1.5 hours, with several picnic areas with fireplaces or restaurant at your convenience along the way.
