"Intermediate landscapes extraction & layering"
Overview
Intro
The exhibition shows an architectural-artistic examination of industrial and infrastructure landscapes based on several years of graphic research by Timo Bauer.
The focus is on large-scale functional buildings such as conveyor systems, blast furnaces and power stations, which maintain our standard of living but often go unnoticed.
Based on a study of the British coal and steel industry, the project combines drawings and archive material to create a multi-layered view of the interplay between industry, landscape and society. The works reveal how technical structures not only shape spaces, but also shape social realities and collective memories.
Charcoal drawings form the central medium of the exhibition. They condense observation and analysis into independent visual worlds in which architectural logic, spatial order and atmospheric effect overlap.
The exhibition in the former gasworks in Schaffhausen creates a direct link to the local industrial history and at the same time opens up an overarching discourse on the transformation, perception and future use of the Mühlental in Schaffhausen.
