The train and energy town Erstfeld is easily reachable with public transport and gives access to the Erstfeld valley. This comparatively short route offers you all elements of an attractive biking route and can ideally be combined with other tours.
Description
After turning off into Talweg from Erstfeld, the majestic Schlossberg points you in the direction of Erstfeld valley. The winding Talstrasse challenges you from the beginning with a demanding ascent. On the Talstrasse you pass charming hamlets, which are typical of small settlements in the mountain areas of Uri.
At the hamlet Wilerli (at 1085 m above sea level) you have already reached the highest point of your tour. The subsequent single trail along Plattental with the short and technically challenging descent along the Alpweg at Bockitobel gets every biker's heart pumping. Let your gaze wander across the whole valley floor and the lower Reuss valley.
In Hofstetten, next to the nostalgic gondola Hofstetten-Wilerli with the open cabin, you reach the valley floor.
