Intro
The Grimmialp region offers a fitting conclusion to the Diemtig Valley Nature Park with its steep rocks, mountain forests and lush alpine meadows. The Grimmialp Bike route leads visitors through this natural experience over the course of 18 kilometres of varied scenery.
Description
At an altitude of approximately 756 metres, the Bernese Oberland Mountain Valley can be recommended for active holidays with its spacious natural scenery. The mountainbike route leads visitors, for the most part, through Switzerland's largest alpine agricultural region. You can experience much idyllic peace and quiet on the woodland paths in the Diemtig Valley Forest Reserve.
The tour begins in Tiermatti, Schwenden. Leaving the valley, we enter Höllersberg Forest, then taking the gravel path up through Balmi Forest into Unterste Gurbs. The challenging descent into the valley takes place shortly before the alpine hut, turning right. It follows the old Grubsweg down to Schlatti. We advise less experienced riders to exercise caution and to push the bike in difficult places. The rather pleasant tour on the shady side along into Grunholz up to Egg once again shows how spacious the natural landscape is.
This most challenging stretch up to Hintere Nydegg will really warm you up! From there we leave the valley again on beautiful forest roads to Tiermatti.
