Intro
Racy sledging fun at the foot of the Grosser Mythen: the run leads from the top station of the Rotenflue cable car to the middle station Rätigs. A steep section in the beginning and a curvy one through the forest make the run interesting. And there’s always enough time to marvel at the pre-alpine panorama.
Description
The Rotenflue cable car takes you up into the beautiful winter scenery of the Mythen region. The trip offers spectacular views: in the background, the two Mythen peaks, the landmark of Schwyz, surrounded by the pre-alpine mountain chain and the lakes of Lucerne and Lauerz. The Mythen region is a real insider tip for nature lovers and explorers.
Facing the mountain peaks of the cantons of Glarus and Uri, the sledge run starts at the top station of Rotenflue and descends to the middle station Rätigs. The well-maintained run first borders the forest, before entering it at the ski hut Holzegg. The steeper section in the beginning and the curvy part in the forest make the run interesting. It drops a total of 500 m in altitude, thus offering great sledging fun for the whole family.
During the sledge ride at the foot of the Grosser Mythen, a fantastic view over the pre-alpine mountains and the pretty valley of Schwyz can be enjoyed.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
