Sauna marathon Schaffhausen 17 & 18 January 2025

On 17 and 18 January 2025, the sauna world will meet for the second time in Schaffhausen for the Sauna Marathon! For the sauna marathon, mobile saunas and hot water pools will be set up in the town of Schaffhausen (Switzerland) at particularly beautiful locations such as the historic old town, on the banks of the Rhine, on the Schaffhausen landmark Munot and in the Rhybadi. Historic old town fountains are heated for bathing. The public indoor pools and saunas, hotel facilities and selected private facilities are also open. In total, around 25 saunas and over 10 warm water pools await enthusiastic participants at around 20 locations. Contrary to the name of the event, the sauna marathon is not about speed, but about socialising and enjoyment. Similar to an orienteering race, each team should visit as many locations as possible. Thanks to numerous partnerships, the second Sauna Marathon also promises to be a culinary journey and participants can look forward to great infusions and ceremonies: a freshly tapped Schaffhausen beer is just as much a part of it as a glass of Schaffhausen Pinot Noir and makkara (Finnish for sausage) cooked on the sauna stove by the Finnish Association. From the Siberian banya ritual to relaxing infusions, everything is included! On Friday (13:00-21:00h) and Saturday (08:00-12:00h) registration will take place on site in Schaffhausen. Each team or participant will receive the exact location plan and the participant data will be recorded. Until then, tickets are not personal and transferable. The sauna marathon is most fun as a group. We therefore recommend taking part as a team. However, individual tickets are also available.
