Ganni
Overview
Intro
Stop, take a breath and simply enjoy – the former farmhouse, built in 1780, with its sun-drenched wooden planks and the red shutters is an authentic venue to just stop and enjoy on a sunny (or less sunny) winter’s day.
Information
Description
Ambience:
Those who have managed to get a seat on the small terrace, which only seats 40, won’t be in a rush to give it up again. There are even less spaces in the traditional restaurant with a dedicated table for regulars, a jukebox as well as the Flämmli bar, located on the other side in the former cow shed. Run by the second generation, the young hosts, Carlo and Anke Tönz (him in the kitchen, her at the service) offer their guests, many of them locals, a cordial welcome.
Location:
At 1,526 metres in the hamlet of Leis right beside the chapel, on the ski slope between Gadastatt and Vals (more or less in the middle), with beautiful views on Vals and the mountains.
Cuisine:
Wholesome, good and affordable, with an extended menu in the evenings: lamb’s lettuce with egg, quiche Lorraine with mixed salad, cheese on toast, sandwiches, cheese and dried meat platters, homemade Pizokel with vegetables and bacon, veal sausages with onion sauce and Spätzle, chicken wings or chicken cordon bleu with chips, venison strips on a mustard sauce with Spätzle and vegetables, wild game delicacies from the Vals valley, cheese fondue, raclette, fruit cakes and a choice of ice-creams.
