Maran-Easy-Trapper-Schneeschuhtrail
Overview
Intro
Easy – That’s how this snow shoe hike really is. The round tour leads in very simple terrain over the clearances of the Maraneralp. It suits anybody who likes to take it a bit more laid-back and still don’t want to relinquish on a great alpine panorama.
Description
The name says it all: This snow shoe hike on the high plateau full of views between Mt. Weisshorn, Prätsch and Litzirüti is not very challenging – and therefore the ideal entrance to the experience of snow shoe hiking in the wintery nature.
In a wide turn, the path leads through slightly hilly terrain and in a whole circle around the cross-country skiing tracks of Maran. In summer, there is one of the highest 18-hole golf courts of Europe. Though it is a rather laid-back hike, one does not have to relinquish on beautiful views: While walking across treeless sectors and through light fir forests, one can catch a glimpse on the impressive mountain landscape of Arosa over and over again. Tiejer Fluh, Maraner Hauptij, Brüggerhorn, Mt. Weisshorn, Hörnli, Erzhorn, Schafrügg and even the highest peak of the Plessur Alps, the Aroser Rothorn can be seen from here.
The area, which one soft-footedly crosses, may be called one of the most beautiful view points of Arosa. The trail can easily be reached with the local bus, which is free of charge.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
