Overview
Nume nid gsprängt "Nume nid gsprängt", as they like to say in the Bern region, and this hike shows the canton from its leisurely side. Walking over the covered wooden bridge into medieval Aarberg is like stepping back in time. Around the dammed Wohlensee, even the usually fast Aare shifts down a gear and the Mutzen in the bear park are hardly likely to be stressed by hikers. "Gäng e chly hü!" is then the ascent from Lake Thun to the cosy village of Aeschi, where this hike comes to a harmonious end.
