The program evokes lived experiences and spiritual journeys. Blending composition and improvisation, Christian Zufferey’s music is akin to jazz yet remains open to classical music, world music, and song. A program that is both intimate and universal, revealing the composer’s inner voice and dreams. The exploration of sonic textures opens doors and stimulates your imagination. With tracks like “Douceur du temps perdu” or “Nébuleuse,” poetry becomes vibration. With “Combat de Reines” or “Echo,” the atmosphere is alpine. With “Terre-mère” or “Esprit de passage,” the music takes you to a spiritual realm.... The Nébuleuse project follows “Echo,” recorded in 2018, which you may have heard in concert.Nébuleuse Trio Concert: Christian Zufferey, piano, composition. Born in 1966, this cheerful little boy sang and enchanted people with his voice. At age six, he received a small electric organ for Christmas and sang as a soloist in his town’s choir. From age 8 to 16, he took classical piano lessons. As a teenager, he began sharing his love of music with friends through rock covers and original compositions. At 18, he turned to jazz and earned his degree in Lausanne. He has taught piano and music theory and led workshops at the Ejma-vs from 1992 to the present. The composer, with his solid background, performs in several ensembles throughout Switzerland and has launched several projects, including “Voie Sensible,” “Collectif B9 ,” “Latitudes Trio,” “Jazz Serenaders,” and “Klarhang.” For these projects, he plays the Hang, a Swiss instrument that Christian has been playing since the 2000s.Cédric Gysler, Double Bass Born in 1975 in Lausanne, he studied at the Montreux Conservatory and the EJMA in Lausanne.
